Butaco, the wildly popular taco joint from Chef Timothy Rufino, is set to take over Gyro Gyro’s stall at Southern Feedstore next month, according to Rafa Pereira, owner and operator of the affiliated Brazilian bar and coffee concept Buteco and an associate with Pellerin Real Estate, the firm behind the East Atlanta Village food hall

“Southern Feedstore is excited to welcome Butaco,” Pereira told What Now Atlanta in an email. “This represents the second collaboration between Buteco and Butaco. The first collab is open now in Grant Park within the Beacon development.”

Pereira goes on to add, “Butaco’s authentic & delicious menu will be the perfect complement to other food offerings now open at SFS including TKO (the Korean One), Waffle Bar, and Woody’s Cheesesteaks. Of course, all of this comes with strong drinks and live music at Buteco – the neighborhood Brazilian cocktail bar & coffee shop.”

With four concepts currently on the books, Pereira says that the food hall is “still searching for that perfect operator or concept to occupy the fifth and final food offering,” adding, “We would love to see breakfast, bakery, veggie-centric (juices, smoothies, salads) or a dessert spot come enjoy what we are doing at SFS.”

Although Butaco only entered Atlanta’s culinary scene last fall, the company has quickly established a name for itself, with an impressive slate of offerings such as the truck-made chorizo, al pastor, and quesabirria.

Rufino did not return a request for comment.
