Politan Row Tuesday announced Mario Ali’s Neapolitan-style pizza concept Belli Pizzeria, Taylur Davis’ Caribbean cuisine Locale Cafe, and the food hall’s beverage program Bar Politan, will be the latest additions to the food hall, set to open on June 24 — check out the $125 “Taste Reimagined” event if you want a sneak peek.
Politan Row at Colony Square is the seventh and largest food hall from Politan Group which will operate a “beverage experience,” Bar Politan, also announced Tuesday. The food hall’s beverage offering features a wine list as well as a mix of classic and “inventive” cocktails, for guests to sip and stroll throughout the open-container property. Politan Group tapped Quinton Anderson as beverage manager for Bar Politan.
“The food hall is designed to give Midtown the ultimate dining experience – from the minute people walk in the door to the moment they leave — and a very important part of that experience is the beverage they drink,” Will Donaldson, founder and CEO of Politan Group, said Tuesday. “The Bar Politan menu is designed so that there’s no wrong choice, whether it’s a seasonal cocktail or the perfect patio rose. Quinton shares our taste for detail and quality and we’re excited to have him lead the program.”
Bar Politan will feature a 40-seat central bar right in the middle of all the action, as well as the event bars around the food hall. The focus for the program will be on craft cocktails with high-quality ingredients and a great accessible wine selection. There will be happy hours at Bar Politan from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with cocktails starting at $7. On the weekends, enjoy brunch favorites, from bloody marys to mimosas.
In addition to the already announced Federal Burger, Bun Mi Grill, YŌM, Pretty Little Taco and Gekko, the new dining concepts opening at Politan Row at Colony Square this summer are:
- Belli Pizzeria, a Neapolitan-style pizza concept founded by Mario Ali. A veteran in the food service industry, Ali grew up in his family’s restaurants in New York City and has touched a variety of businesses in Atlanta, from managing the restaurants and bars at Kimpton Hotel to helping open six nightclubs and restaurants, including True Food Kitchen. He was also the private chef for the cast of Fast and the Furious and the Transformers franchise. Ali’s Belli, a riff on the Italian word for beautiful, will combine the best ingredients with attention to detail to bring flavorful dishes to Midtown, including the classic Pizza Margherita, as well as a prosciutto and arugula pizza and charcuterie plates.
- Locale Cafe, accessible Caribbean cuisine, specializing in Jerk Chicken, brought to life by Taylur Davis. A dynamic entrepreneur with a love for hospitality, Davis trained and worked in LA alongside Chef Tony Nuygen of Crustacean Beverly Hills, as well as with several elite celebrities, before relocating back to her hometown of Atlanta. Locale Cafe at Politan Row will be Davis’ first brick and mortar restaurant and will serve up Caribbean-inspired dishes from classic Jamaican meat patties and Jerk wings to succulent stewed Oxtail bowls and grilled Jerk Chicken platters.
The grand opening of Politan Row at Colony Square will kick off with a ticketed “Taste Reimagined” event on Thursday, June 24. Tickets will open to the public on June 1. The celebrations continue with a public ribbon-cutting and day-long festivities on Friday, June 25, as well as live music in the Plaza on Saturday, June 26.
