Atlanta Beltline, Inc. (ABI) Thursday evening held a “Southwest Study Group” meeting open to the public to introduce the selected design team for Enota Park, Pond & Co.
The Southwest Study Group includes residents of the Westview, West End, Adair Park, Pittsburgh, Mechanicsville, Oakland City, Bush Mountain, Capitol View, Capitol View Manor and Sylvan Hills neighborhoods along the Atlanta Beltline.
Pond & Co., a Peachtree Corners-based engineering firm has been retained “to advance the design” of the Enota Park expansion on the Westside Trail, according to a media advisory Wednesday.
The expanded park will be over 8 acres bounded by Interstate 20 to the north, the Westside Trail to the east, Lucile Avenue to the south, and Enota Place to the west.
“Enota Park was designed to serve as the gateway to the neighborhood and provide a direct connection to the Atlanta Beltline,” according to the project’s website.
“Planned amenities include a multi-purpose playing field, a full-size basketball court, playgrounds, an event lawn, a restored creek bed, and a community garden.”
The project, being developed through collaboration between ABI and the City of Atlanta, is protected by The Trust for Public Land.
