  1. Farmstead 303 was a particularly bad dining experience for me recently. Unless the chef magically learns how to cook well and the servers learn how to, um, serve, I don’t see this place staying open long either.

  2. It’s a big space. Wish they’d do a buffet a la Our Way. That’s the one thing Decatur doesn’t have.

  3. Right on, Cliff. I get tired of going to Tucker for country cooking at Matthews, but I go once a week. I like Feast a lot but am unlikely to
    go to Rail.

  4. Requests for buffets? Really? Buffets are an American travesty. As for Rail, I dined there tonight on a beautiful patio. Had the turkey burger and a side salad with a Manhattan 101. The food was great, the server was truly happy and helpful as was every other staff member. As for being a dead space, I know it’s been through a lot but nothing that good food and friendly service can’t fix.

  5. Rail is a charmer, and the dishes, especially Southern Chicken Salad with nuts and fruit, were delightful. Chef Teri Rogers was delightful and good. Buffet?? GMAB -“Feed Troughs” are the bane of American Cuisine. Her staff was charming and helpful. My kids and Rail made my Father’s Day celebration memorable.
