Doughnut Dollies in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood has closed its doors. But the area might not be lacking the sweet treat for very long. The Salty has leased the space, Tomorrow’s News Today and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.

The Salty features a rotating menu of donut flavors, like brown butter and salt, strawberry shortcake, chocolate cake, and more. The menu also includes donut holes and other pastries, as well as coffee beverages. It first began in 2015 as a pop-up and now has locations in cities across the U.S.

The Virginia-Highland shop would be the fourth Atlanta location for The Salty, which can also be found in Buckhead, in West Midtown and near Krog Street Market. The company first expanded to the Atlanta market last year, with the city being a “no-brainer” for the donut shop.

Ownership for The Salty could not be reached for more information.

Doughnut Dollies still has two remaining locations, in Atlanta on Howell Mill Road and in Marietta. The Virginia-Highland shop had been open since 2021.
