Urban Cannibals will replace the now-shuttered Cruzado (Las Palmeras before that), at 368 5th Street NE, in Midtown.

“We’ll be bringing back the family’s original bodega on one side plus more seating and a patio on the other,” according to the social media post in referencing Las Palmeras.

“They and we are very excited about that. We’ll be doing breakfast, lunch, brunch and light fare dinner in that space along with CSA pick up, Sundae Sunday and more.”

Run by chef Calavino Donati, and artist and activist Doria Roberts, Urban Cannibals’ original location, at 477 Flat Shoals Avenue SE, serves up sandwiches, soups, and baked goods, and retails essentials such as toothpaste and laundry detergent.
