Fifth Group Restaurants is moving forward with plans to open a third location of its popular European concept, Ecco, in Buckhead.

Simon Property Group, the developer of Phipps Plaza, Monday filed a building permit application with City of Atlanta to lay the foundation for the forthcoming restaurant.

Ecco will be situated between the luxury Buckhead mall and the recently-opened AC By Marriott Hotel.

According to the filing, Ecco will be two-stories tall and an estimated $418,500 could be spent laying the 9,830-square-foot foundation.

Ecco Buckhead, designed by The Johnson Studio, is slated to open mid-2017, the brand’s third location. The original Ecco is in Midtown and the second at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

This will be Fifth Group’s second Buckhead restaurant. The company earlier this year opened a second location of South City Kitchen on the ground floor of 3350 Peachtree.

Fifth Group also owns and operates Alma Cocina, La Tavola Trattoria, Lure, The Original El Taco, and catering company Bold American Events.
