The restaurant at 5310 Windward Parkway will be the second one in Georgia for Samy Onsi, who opened a location of The Brass Tap in Dunwoody in early 2016.

Onsi had been working in the corporate world when he was looking for a change and discovered The Brass Tap.

“I jumped in my car, drove all the way to Tampa to go check out the locations they had back in the day,” he said. “I really liked the concept in general.”

Despite the challenges of opening a new restaurant (supply-chain issues and high costs among them), Onsi said he’s looking forward to bringing the concept to Milton.

“I put together a great team, so I’m excited to open here in a couple weeks,” he said.

In addition to favorites like burgers and wings, the Milton restaurant will also add pizza to the menu.

The Brass Tap is a Tampa-based sports bar franchise known for its craft beer offerings. It has grown to almost 50 locations in 16 states.

There are two existing Georgia locations of The Brass Tap, but it won’t stop there. Chris Elliott, CEO of FSC Franchise Co., the franchisor behind The Brass Tap, told What Now Atlanta they’re eyeing growth in Marietta, Johns Creek, Woodstock, Peachtree City, Covington and McDonough.

“Once the brand gets a little bit of recognition in the market and the interest grows, the market tends to fill out over the next two to three years, which happened to us in Dallas,” Elliott said. “Our original stores in Dallas were very successful. Now the market’s pretty much sold out… That’s what we expect to happen in Atlanta.”

Elliott said that the different neighborhoods of metro Atlanta are great markets for The Brass Tap and its brand values.

“We work hard to push the quality of the food above what’s typically considered bar food,” Elliott said. “It’s a fun place. It’s designed for you to come and stay a few hours and walk out with a smile on your face.”

The Milton location of The Brass Tap will be opening Oct. 30. It will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
