Tacos & Tequilas Mexican Grill is now open in Lawrenceville.
Owned by Diego Velasquez of La Bonanza Hospitality Group, this is the first large-scale, modern-style location of Tacos & Tequilas. The space includes indoor and patio dining, outdoor fire pits, lawn games, multiple private dining areas and flat-screens.
“Our team always wants to be reinventing ourselves,” Velasquez said in a news release. “As a group, we are a strong, creative force that plans to bring the best we can possibly offer to the communities we choose to become a part of on our journey. We set our sights on the Lawrenceville/Snellville area for the launch of our first, large-scale, modern-style restaurant because the neighborhood is growing quickly. We know that we can be the much-needed spot for all of the nearby families and workplaces to gather comfortably. This is a very proud opening for us, and we cannot wait to welcome our guests each day!”
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily, including specials that can be enjoyed Monday through Friday between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The botanas (appetizer) section of the menu includes a hot cheese dip, guacamole and elotes rolled in cilantro lime butter. The tacos section offers a variety of meat and seafood coupled with rice and beans. Diners can also enjoy veggie or chicken bowls, six different combination platters, and other Mexican specialties, including the fan-favorite chimichanga.
Margaritas are made in-house and served on the rocks or frozen with a variety of tequilas. There is also a booze-free menu that includes a Hibiscus Watermelon Paloma and a Hibiscus Spritz.
The design of the restaurant, by Office of Design, includes shades of green with splashes of earthy tones and pinks and oranges.
“For this project, we wanted to lean into the Tacos and Tequilas branding as well as the team’s love of mixing in live, lush greenery with their concepts,” Morgan Justis, of Office of Design, said in the news release.
There is also a 20-foot accordion glass window that connects the bar with the outdoor patio.
Tacos & Tequilas Mexican Grill is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Tacos & Tequilas Mexican Grill made its debut in 2010 and has become a popular go-to in the Atlanta market. Locations include Buford, Buckhead, Cumming, Midtown and now Lawrenceville.
