The chef announced the closure on Instagram. Nick’s Westside had been open for about three years, but Leahy has operated concepts at the space since 2018, first with the French restaurant Aix and the wine bar Tin Tin. Nick’s Westside, located at 956 Brady Avenue NW, focused on locally sourced, sustainable food.

Now, Leahy is pivoting to a new concept: a butcher shop called Vice Kitchen that’s in the works in Johns Creek. The shop will be located at 6000 Medlock Bridge Parkway, the first of four planned locations, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Leahy told What Now Atlanta that while the locations of the three future shops are currently undecided, they will aim to strategically place them around metro Atlanta, with delivery offered within 10 miles of each store.

In addition to meat, the butcher shop and retail store will include expanded offerings like seafood and meatballs.

“Doing a lot of prepared foods in-house, sides for people to take home,” Leahy said. “The local, seasonal stuff I’ve always done.”

He said the soft opening of Vice Kitchen is expected to be in the next few weeks, followed by a grand opening early next month.

In addition to Vice Kitchen, Leahy has launched a restaurant consulting firm called Harvest Hospitality. According to the company website, the firm will offer services like menu analysis and design, branding and marketing, restaurant design, franchise consulting and oversight of restaurant buildout.

According to the AJC, a new dining concept will take over the former Nick’s Westside space.
