A building permit application was filed with the City of Atlanta to expand the dining room of Tabla, an Indian restaurant located at 77 12th St NE.

The expansion would allow the restaurant to grow into the adjacent empty space. The estimated cost of construction on the 1,800-square-foot space is $10,000, according to the application.

Tabla is an upscale authentic Indian restaurant from Sandeep Kothary, offering “a contemporary ambiance mixed in with traditional cuisine.” The original Midtown location opened in 2013, followed by a Buckhead outpost on Pharr Road in 2021. The menu includes Indian culinary classics like butter chicken, tandoori chicken, curry and more, along with specialty cocktails.

Kothary could not immediately be reached for comment about the expansion.
