Sweetwater Brewing Company later this will convert its Tasting Room into “Sweetwater Brewery Bar and Restaurant” (a name has not been finalized; could be called the Sweetwater Taproom.)

Situated in the Armour neighborhood of Atlanta, at 195 Ottley Drive, the project calls for the renovation of the brewery’s existing Tasting Room into a bar, pub, and lounge space.

“Since the September 1 [2017] laws went into effect, we’ve been thinking about how we should incorporate food into our taproom services,” a Sweetwater spokesperson Monday told What Now Atlanta in an email.

“We’ve made progress on plans for some physical improvements, and we’re continuing to consider menu and food options (but no concrete decisions have been made on that; very much in the development stage at this point.”

Expected work at the space includes demolition, new interior finishes, relocating existing restrooms, adding a kitchen, replacing the storefront, extending the exterior patio, and adding a canopy.

At the center of Sweetwater Brewery Bar and Restaurant will be a four-sided bar accessible from any direction and three garage doors will open up into the courtyard.

There could be an area for games like shuffleboard and pinball inside.

An opening timeline has not yet been set.
