Restaurant operations halted after New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2019, after which “nobody was brought back to the building,” a source who played an integral role in The Castle’s site operations, and wishes to remain anonymous, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) Monday.

The concept from co-owners Mike Latham and Thad Keefe—the owner of the recently shuttered 1Kept Kitchen + Bar in Buckhead and Charleston, and associated with Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft and Mosaicopened in October 2017.

According to the source, Keefe departed the project within 120 days of Rose + RYE’s opening in 2017.

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) began marketing the historic home—which housed the restaurant for nearly three years—after the property’s owner MLAC Castle Atlanta LLC two months ago filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

  1. My last visit to the Castle was for a networking event last year. The space is gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what’s done with this 3rd level and of course the food.
