“The culinary lineup at Politan Row was so important for us to get right; great things take time, and we didn’t want to rush the discovery process just to ensure all restaurants opened at the same time,” Will Donaldson, founder and CEO of Politan Group, said in a statement. “These two new concepts will further enhance the one-of-a-kind experience we aim to deliver.”

Marrakech Express specializes in authentic Moroccan cuisine, with halal eats including tangines, lamb shanks, chicken shawarma, homemade baklawa (Arabic for baklava) and more. The work of chef Amal Alaoui, who learned traditional Moroccan cooking from her mother and grandmother, the restaurant was previously housed in East Atlanta Village and held popups at farmer’s markets around Atlanta. The location will open on Sept. 6.

Zaddy’s is a deli by personal chef and caterer Aliah Jefferson, a former retail management and HR professional who transitioned to the restaurant world after working at Twisted Kitchen and Roc South. She launched Zaddy’s as a sandwich-focused concept during the pandemic, when she delivered large meat- or veggie-stuffed sandwiches to Atlanta locals through her catering company Mina Meals. The menu at Politan Row will include smoked turkey, cajun lemon pepper tuna and grilled balsamic veggie sandwiches, along with soups, salad and coffee. Zaddy’s will open at the end of September.

The addition of Marrakech Express and Zaddy’s bring the 20,000-square-foot food hall’s eatery lineup to 11. Other restaurants on the roster are Belli Pizzeria, Bun Mi Grill, Federal Burger, Gekko, Locale Cafe, Pretty Little Tacos, Tandoori Pizza & Wings Co., Unbelibubble and YŌM.
