Permits were recently filed in Gwinnett County for the Buford location, which is coming to The Exchange @ Gwinnett.
It will occupy about 4.5 acres with eight indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and a full-service restaurant, bar and lounge, according to the company’s website. Other features include a 26-lane cornhole yard, volleyball courts and a concert stage.
The Buford location broke ground this summer, according to an announcement. It’s expected to open in the summer of 2023.
“Pickle & Social welcomes pickleball players of all skill levels to enjoy dedicated courts, along with additional entertainment that creates a place for everyone to come together to create lifetime memories,” Neal Freeman, CEO of Competitive Social Ventures, the parent company of Pickle and Social, said in a press release this summer. Freeman previously founded LakePoint Sports, a youth sports destination in Bartow County.
The Alpharetta location of Pickle and Social will offer six indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, a full-service restaurant, rooftop bar, cornhole yards and lawn games, according to its website. It’s planned for downtown Alpharetta, joining Competitive Social Ventures’ other concepts in the suburban city: Roaring Social and Fairway Social.
Brian Harper, vice president of sales and marketing for Competitive Social Ventures, said the Alpharetta location should break ground early next year.
Last month, the company also announced Pickle and Social would open a location in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“We are hopping on the train of pickleball, which for the third year in a row, is the fastest-growing sport in America,” said Harper, who previously worked with Topgolf.
He added that Pickle and Social has a strategic partnership with the American Cornhole League to host weekly events and regional tournaments.
