After the success of its first standalone shop in East Lake, PERC Coffee wants to keep that momentum going with a second retail store in Virginia-Highland.

The coffee shop will be taking over space previously occupied by Cacao Cafe, at 1046 North Highland Avenue Northeast.

Bill Davis, Commercial Associate with KW Commercial Atlanta Perimeter, was the tenant broker for the deal and a Preferred Partner of What Now Atlanta.

“It’s a really nice open space in the Highlands,” Co-Owner Alan Fischer said. “We’ve taken the space and really have made it our own.”

Started out of a tiny space in the Starland neighborhood in 2010 by Philip Brown, and now in its tenth year, PERC Coffee hopes to continue to expand.

“The Savannah location expanded to an adjacent roastery and started serving coffee in a limited capacity,” Fischer said. “We’re always looking for more opportunities to grow especially around Atlanta where we can be a part of a neighborhood we can connect with.”

While it took until this past year for the company to expand into retail, Fischer felt the sky was the limit for the growing coffee brand.

“What we’re going for with the food is that we want it to be really fun ad nostalgic,” he said. “We started producing poptrats, hotpocket-style dishes will be served at the Virginia-Highland.”

Fischer said they hope to open the new store by the end of the month.
