Summit Coffee, with several locations across North Carolina and more on the way, currently has two cafes in metro Atlanta; one in Roswell that opened in 2023 and a recently opened shop at Emory Village.

The menu includes freshly brewed coffee beverages, including a lineup of seasonal specials and flavors, and pastries.

The new Summit Coffee will be located in an approximately 1,460-square-foot space at The Shops of Dunwoody, a community the brand is excited to join.

“We’re excited to be another good tenant and add to the community. There’s enough of that to go around,” said local owner Adam Cook.

Originally from New York, Cook moved to Georgia about four years ago. He and his wife, a University of Georgia alum, are close friends with other UGA alumni and fellow coffee lovers, inspiring them to try and find a brand to get involved with.

“We just decided two years ago that we wanted to do something together,” he told What Now Atlanta. “We all share a love of coffee, so we were looking around to find brands that were open to having some investing partners and also ones that matched our ethos and what we wanted to do.”

Then they discovered Summit Coffee.

“Everyone there was so open and exactly the kind of people we want to be around,” Cook continued. “Their company ethos is spot-on. Their cafes cater to families and also the everyday coffee drinker. The high, low and everything in between is what we liked.”

Things moved quickly from there, and they began searching for the perfect location.

The new shop is expected to open later this summer. Cook said another location is on the way down the line, expected to open in 2026. For now, they’re gearing up to begin construction in Dunwoody, which will include adding seating and elevating the interior space to create a nice, communal atmosphere.

Summit Coffee began in 1998 and launched franchising in 2020. The company is further sweetening its portfolio with an ice cream shop, Summit Creamery, opening soon in Davidson, North Carolina.
