The boutique gift shop will feature a range of handmade products, from clothing to gifts, from more than 24 local artisans. In addition to the retail offerings, MAKE[R] will host various maker-led classes and workshops throughout the year.

“We’ve been involved with Halcyon for many years through the Spring and Holiday Artists Markets,” said Kristen Cardinal, founder of MAKE[R]. “Halcyon’s welcoming community and vibrant energy made it a natural fit for our second storefront. We look forward to connecting with our neighbors even further as we celebrate our grand opening soon.”

Grand opening celebrations for MAKE[R] will kick off on March 16, 2024. The first 20 customers will receive a swag bag from the shop’s local artisans. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Your Prints of Love will host a pop-up offering its signature fingerprint and pet paw print casts-turned-keepsakes. Southern Sparkle Fairy Hair will be at MAKE[R] from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with its signature hair tinsel.

On March 17, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Ace and Atlas will host a pop-up selling handmade embroidered sweaters. Additional experiences throughout the weekend include an all-day build-your-own bracelet bar, free kids make-and-take Shamrock sun catchers workshop and nitro green tea lemonade from Phoenix Roasters.

MAKE[R] will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

Halcyon is a mixed-use destination in Forsyth County featuring shopping and dining. Atlanta-based real estate investment and development firm RocaPoint Partners is the project developer.

“We’re proud that more than 60 percent of the retailers and restaurants at Halcyon are minority- or women-owned businesses,” said Phil Mays, Principal at RocaPoint Partners. “With Kristen at the helm, MAKE[R] is an excellent addition to our robust lineup of retailers. You can find whatever you’re looking for at Halcyon, from handcrafted goods, delicious meals and experiences unlike anywhere else.”
