Mayor Kasim Reed Spotted Dropping Off Armani Suit/Stained Tommy Bahama Tie

With a renovation proposal drafted in December of 2009, Mac N’ Jac Hand Cleaners and Launderers is finally moving forward with those plans.

Construction on the expansion and renovation began just days ago at their current operation at 537 Ponce de Leon avenue.

If you have ever been a customer of theirs or have plans on using them in the future, this is good news for several reasons.

First, considering the exuberant number of closures we have covered in the past month alone, it’s refreshing to see that businesses are prospering– and obscure ones to say the least.

Though the majority of their customers would agree that the main challenge is the lack of parking, this will be a priority in the expansion and re-construction.

Taking the lot located to the left (when looking out from within towards Ponce), the new structure will come in four sections and in two tiers.

The renovation will focus on the façade and parking as well as other exterior related upgrades, thought the addition will consist of a brand new structure.

What seems to have been a year in the making, we for one will be very satisfied when the renovations are complete and parking is much more obtainable; and come on, the space is an eyesore as it currently sits.

The moral of this story, even though it might not have steamed your broccoli, is if Mac N’ Jac is good enough for Mayor Reed, it’s good enough for us! Right?
