Owners freeze under pressure

Yoreka!, a yogurt shop start-up, has closed their only remaining location.

Formerly located at 1128 Euclid avenue in Little Five Points, the yogurt shop launched in 2009 with plans for expansion.

Their Sandy Springs location in the Prado Shopping Center (5590 Roswell Road) closed late last year.

The yogurt shop posted a sign Jan. 2 on the front door announcing their closure and also deleted their Facebook page.

Their twitter account (@Yoreka)? Frozen in time. The last tweet was in August of 2010.

The contact page on Yoreka.com has also been removed. We took a screen shot from the cached version, before and after:

  1. Hey Hey there is KARMA!

I went there a while back to sell a service to the owner. He was as rude as can be and deserves to be closed. This just made my day !!

Rot in a gutter jerk !!!!1

  2. This made my day! I used to work for these Thai bastards at the Prado location. They didnt even tell us they were going to close that location until I showed up for work one morning and the whole damn place was closed! Those asshole! Hope they rot in hell! Also hope their crappy Thai restaurant, the sweet lamb, also in little 5 points closes too!! And last by not least hope their [expletive] rude ass daughter fails out of UGA or that her parents cant pay the tuition anymore!!!

Thank you Jesus for this wonderful news!!!

  3. Aw 🙁 I loved this place. My kids and I used to come here after each of their soccer practices. The yogurt was delicious, and I still think it was the best FroYo joint that Atlanta had to offer. This is such a loss for the community. God bless.

  4. YOREKA WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! I<3YOREKA!

And shame on you sinful and bitter individuals that leave nasty comments. May God give you what you deserve in the end. Romans 12:17-21

  5. There is a new yogurt & smoothie place/art gallery between Acapela Books and Savage. Very yummy, clean and fresh toppings. I think they might be called Picasso’s but they didn’t have permanent signage last I was there. I’m greatful for a locally owned froyo place and hope it has beeter luck than the obviously corporate/profit driven Yoreka.

  6. wow. i sense a lot of negativity. Mike – $hit happens….maybe it was a bad day for him, as for u….or maybe your sales pitch SUCKS! ……. GP- u must hold grudges real close real long huh? go cry about it. smart move on the owner actually…. bc if he told u sooner that they were going to close, then u wouldve just BAILED on them. It’s business buddy…. hes got A LOT more to lose than u. like i said earlier…$hit happens. it sounds like ur more jeaous than anything.

This place was pretty good. Sad to see it go, but hey…..$HIT HAPPENS!
