Owners Alex and Jennifer Aton have inked a deal to bring the restaurant to Summerhill in the spring, according to a press release Tuesday.

It will serve its New York-style pizza out of a revitalized storefront, at 77 Georgia Avenue, starting in May.

“We had been looking for a space to open Junior’s as a permanent restaurant, but hadn’t found the right fit,” Alex Aton said in the release.

“Over the past few years, we’ve had our eye on all of the change that has been happening at Summerhill. We knew bringing Junior’s to all the exciting additions to Georgia Avenue would be a great opportunity.”

The menu will offer a variety of items including a few specialty pizzas, salads, and vegan pizza options.

Junior’s Pizza will also serve a select mix of beer and wine.

The pizza restaurant will have seating inside and outdoors on the patio.

“We have been blown away at the steady transformation of Georgia Avenue as we continue to bring in more and more tenants,” Jack Murphy, director at Carter, the real estate firm revitalizing Summerhill, said in the release.

“Junior’s Pizza will be a great addition to the mix of retailers and restaurants coming to the neighborhood and will continue to make Georgia Avenue a place where people can spend time and enjoy themselves.”

DeCarlo Hawker is designing the restaurant’s interior “reflecting the personality of the owners while showcasing the work of great local artists.”

Summerhill is gaining new momentum heading into the new year.

Last week alone two new concepts were revealed for the revitalized neighborhood including Little Bear and Conspiracy.

Summerhill’s first phase will feature 37,000 square feet of redeveloped retail and restaurant space along Georgia Avenue, 8,000 square feet of which will be loft office space.

JLL is handling retail leasing for the project.

Phase one also includes the construction of 700 student residences, adjacent to Georgia State Stadium.

Phase two will include for-sale townhomes, boutique office buildings, and additional storefront shops with garden patios along streets improved with bike lanes and on-street parking.
