The Juicy Crab franchise Founder Raymond Chen is launching a new restaurant brand with an outpost in Kennesaw, the restaurateur confirmed in a telephone conversation Thursday.
Details surrounding the new brand — called Fresh One Kitchen — are scarce with more details set to be unveiled as the restaurant gets closer to its opening in four to five months. Chen said he wants to open the first Fresh One Kitchen before discussing project specifics because “there are a lot of copycats, so we’re trying to keep our concept close to our chest until we’re almost ready.”
Permits for Fresh One Kitchen were recently issued in Cobb County. The restaurant is slated to open at 440 Ernest Barrett Pkwy, Suite 104, in the Main Street at Town Center shopping plaza. Construction is expected to cost $150,000, according to the recently-issued permit.
Unlike Chen’s seafood chain, Fresh One Kitchen will operate as a corporate restaurant with plans for franchising possible in the future. It will be a “bowl concept with fresh, healthy ingredients,” a description of the upcoming brand shared on LinkedIn last month states.
Odidi Odidi, who’s listed as the Vice President of Fresh One Kitchen, is quoted saying when asked what the future holds for Fresh One Kitchen, “It’s simple, we want Fresh One Kitchen locations expanded and available in every community to ensure delicious, fresh, healthy to-go food options are always available!”
Odidi was formerly the Regional Director of Operations for The Juicy Crab. Odidi did not comment when reached via telephone earlier this week.
The Juicy Crab was founded in 2015 with an outpost in Duluth. On February 17, 2022, the company opened an outpost in Clarksville, Indiana — its forty-first location.
