The coffee and donut hub will have a soft opening Dec. 22, 2023, followed by a grand opening celebration on Jan. 6, 2024.

Entrepreneur Shamran “Sham” Kurani, president and CEO of the quickly growing QSR hospitality brand Kurani Food Group, is a seasoned restaurant operator, with several Dunkin locations in metro Atlanta.

Kurani told What Now Atlanta that Covington was a prime spot for the group’s next location.

“As I was deciding where my next investment was gonna be, I realized the city of Covington was promoting new business development in the community,” he said. “It’s a growing town. As a business owner, you love towns that are already grown and developed, but to know there’s more development coming is the best part.”

Kurani Food Group is planning to bring six more locations to Georgia in 2024, with Buford and Tucker next on the lineup.

With Kurani Food Group being a family business, Kurani said he enjoys taking a hands-on approach to the operations.

“You may catch us, as owners, inside the business,” he said. “I may end up making some of my customers a cup of coffee or a latte or espresso.”

Founded in 1950, Dunkin is the largest coffee and donut brand in the U.S., with more than 13,200 restaurants globally.
