The Boxcar Grocer to replace weave shop Downtown

What Now Atlanta reported Tuesday Castleberry Hill would be getting an Acme Market grocery store– some details were tangled– a building permit filed Monday had some inaccuracies.

The now shuttered Kim Miller’s Hair Gallery at 249 Peters Street next door to Off The Hook Barber Shop will actually reopen as The Boxcar Grocer, according to Alison Cross, co-owner.

“I’m not sure what would have caused Acme to be written on the permit,” Cross said.

The Boxcar Grocer is a family-owned grocery store, according to Cross, who told What Now Atlanta in an email Tuesday the store will primarily be made up of “healthy products.”

The grocer will sell mostly organic and natural foods along with some traditional items as well, according to Cross.

The 3,000-square-foot “convenience store sized” store is slated to open this fall.

“We are so looking forward to opening our doors this Fall but still have a lot of work to do,” Cross said. “The least of which is the build-out that has not yet begun.”
