The grocery store, at 725 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, is scheduled to close Friday to make way for 725 Ponce, a new mixed-use project that will be anchored by Kroger.
The vigil would be held Thursday, Oct. 27, from 8 p.m. until midnight, according to the event’s Facebook page.
As of Tuesday morning 654 Facebook users have officially RSVP’d for the vigil and another 2,700 are “interested” in attending.

The event organizers Rowyn Hirsch, Hailey Mychal Stambek, and Rachel Bowen, have included links to purchase Murder Kroger shirts “so the memory lives on.”
Dylan York, a member of the Facebook event page, offered this banner for “everyone standing in solidarity with another tragic loss in 2016:”

I’m so confused.
So all those restaurants are contributing food for pre-packaged boxes at a PCM event?
That’s a lot of restaurants– and I don’t see a lot of them doing $5
boxed food very well.
Do you know what’s in the box before you buy it?
It would be awesome if they offered a drive thru for the bake sale.
