So happy to see Handels Ice Cream is coming to Atlanta. I’m 81 years old and I’m from Youngstown, Ohio, home of the original Handels.
Handles opened each year in April and closed in October. The owners Mr. and Mrs. Handel would go to Florida and spend the winter there.
As a child, I remember with much anticipation for April to arrive, chocolate pecan was my favorite.
I am so excited Handel’s is finally entering the Atlanta metro area. I was raised in Youngstown, and have missed their ice cream. Chocolate pecan is my favorite, but all of their flavors are excellent.
