In a previous post by What Now Atlanta, Restaurateur John Chen and Chef Jason Liang revealed they had signed a lease and were opening a new concept at the lobby of Stars Metals Offices at 1055 Howell Mill Rd.

The concept has been revealed to be the cocktail-focused concept of Lucky Star. An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed.

Lucky Star will offer coffee, matcha drinks, tea, and draft cocktails. And while its focus will be on drinks, it will also provide food similar to Chen and Liang’s other menu at Momo Café. Those items will include offerings like filled croissants and Taiwanese fried chicken sandwiches.

The plan is to have a front and back bar with creative drink options that are inspired by classic dishes. Patrons can expect creative cocktails like a tomatillo-based margarita or a mapo tofu-inspired drink,

The reservation-only back bar will also have a separate menu, with specific options curated by the bartender.

Lucky Star will be a part of the larger $350 million Star Metals District development in West Midtown. Several other restaurants have been announced for the massive mixed-use space.
