After two years of underground “suppers” from their home and a Kickstarter campaign that raised nearly $72,000 across 406 “backers,” husband and wife team Zach and Cristina Meloy, are taking PushStart Kitchen to the streets with a brick-and-mortar storefront.

Called Better Half, the supper club concept will take roots at 349 14th Street on December 15.

“PushStart Kitchen is opening a new, for-real, restaurant,” the married restauranteurs announced on the restaurant’s website.

The money raised from the Kickstarter campaign has been spent on “everything from build-out, equipment and legal fees to silverware, napkins, and glasses,” according to the campaign page.

PushStart had its last underground supper Thanksgiving week to gear up for Better Half’s opening in Home Park.
