Black Jack Asian Bar is planned for 1080 Peachtree Street NE, according to a building permit application with the City of Atlanta to “renovate an existing bar and restaurant into a new Asian restaurant with bar.”

Ri Ra Irish Pub was formerly located in the ground-floor space of the 1010 Midtown building at the corner of 12th and Crescent streets, before closing in 2020.

Niki Pattharakositkul is associated with the new concept. Pattharakositkul is the founder and CEO of 26 Thai Kitchen & Bar, which has several locations in Metro Atlanta, including one at the upcoming Politan Row at Ashford Lane food hall.

According to planning documents for the build-out, operating hours for the new restaurant will be 12 p.m. to midnight daily. The space is 2,800 square feet, with an occupancy of 108 people. A new kitchen, dining area, lighting fixtures and restrooms are among the scope of work. The estimated cost of construction is $75,000, according to the application.

Black Jack Asian Bar is about a half-mile from the spot where another concept from Pattharakositkul, an Asian-inspired restaurant and bar, was reported to be in the works in November, right next to 26 Thai’s Midtown location.

Pattharakositkul could not immediately be reached for comment.
