The drive-thru coffee chain is proposed for 761 Powder Springs Street, according to construction documents. The space would be 664 square feet. The property was previously a Wells Fargo Bank.

Scooter’s Coffee began in Nebraska in 1998 and started franchising in 2001. It now has more than 750 locations across the U.S., with several more in development.

According to the company website, there are eight locations in Georgia, including an existing one in Marietta at 2943 Canton Road.

The menu includes hot and iced signature coffee drinks, as well as smoothies, tea and food items like muffins and breakfast sandwiches.

A rezoning application for the 761 Powder Springs Street site was submitted in 2022 to convert the property from OI (Office Institutional) to CRC (Community Retail Commercial). According to the application, the site was a bank for more than 20 years, until the Wells Fargo vacated in 2021. Several driving aisles and three outdoor tables were proposed for the Scooter’s Coffee at the time.
