Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group sold the BUA Thai + Sushi Restaurant Brookhaven space to a new tenant, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar. The restaurant owner told What Now Atlanta (WNA) that, in addition to this Brookhaven opening at 705 Town Blvd NE, another location is opening up at The Battery at 800 Battery Ave SE.
“The Brookhaven location will be the first 26 Thai that sells sushi,” owner Niki Pattharakositkul told WNA. “We’re trying to do a Thai and Japanese fusion on the sushi part in which we apply some Thai elements to the rolls, such as curry sauce.” Some of the fusion elements the owner mentioned were a Basil Chicken sushi roll and others that involve green curry. According to them, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar will also introduce a full craft bar to Brookhaven.
“This Brookhaven/Buckhead area casual restaurant is located on Peachtree Road in the Town Brookhaven lifestyle mixed-use center,” Josovitz told WNA. The unit is anchored by Costco, LA Fitness, Publix, luxury apartments, restaurants, and retail shops. 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar will consist of 66 indoor seats, 12 sushi bar seats, 14 liquor bar seats, 48 patio seats, and 22 front entrance seats. “We have two locations already in Buckhead and one in Midtown.”
“For the second location at The Battery, it’s going to be at the food court called ‘Ph-East Food Hall.’ We’ll be replacing Snackbox Bistro. This is very exciting because we’ve made it to the Braves Stadium and people will be watching baseball games while eating 26 Thai.” Pattharakositku is very excited because this will be their third and forth location, introducing the brand to more people.
“We’re also looking to expand more in Roswell/Sandy Springs,” Pattharakositkul confirmed. The Brookhaven location is slated to open at the beginning of February, while The Battery one is projected to open sometime in January.
