Skate the Sky will take place at Rooftop Terrace, the Roof’s private event space.

“High above Ponce de Leon Avenue and overlooking the Atlanta Beltline and Old Fourth Ward, the space will transform into a rooftop winter wonderland” from Monday, November 20, through Wednesday, February 14, according to a press release Tuesday.

Slater Hospitality—the team behind the roof’s amusement park, Skyline Park, Nine Mile Station and the forthcoming RFD Social—is opening the 3,500-square-foot rink.

“The covered space will be aglow with holiday lights and décor, and offer hot toddies and a variety of other food offerings from Skyline Park,” according to the release.

Access to Skate the Sky will be available for $15 per person (but really $25 including the $10 admission to Skyline Park) including skate rental and 50 minutes of skating, plus admission to The Roof.

Guests will be able to enter the ice rink as a walk-in from Skyline Park ($10 for adults and $7 for kids 12 and under) or Nine Mile Station (reservations via Tock available here).

Hours for the rink will be Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., Monday through Wednesday from 3 to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m., with 21+ only access after 5 p.m.

Installation on Skate the Sky recently began and will include cranes to lay the framework of the rink 10 stories up on the Roof.

Slater Hospitality’s team and engineers will use high tech piped mats cooled by a 120-ton glycol compressor to build the surface.
