New location will serve as its flag ship store after East Atlanta Village outpost closed in May.
Chef Calavino Donati and artist Doria Roberts will open their Urban Cannibals Bodega + Bites at 368 5th Street in Midtown on September 19, according to a release.
The new location will still retain the focus on local food, community and food advocacy from the original concept in East Atlanta Village that closed in May. The larger Midtown space will allow for a dedicated bodega on one side and a dining room and patio that will serve breakfast, brunch, a sandwich lunch menu, and dinner on the other.
September 19 will be a soft opening with flexible hours until October 1. During that time, Urban Cannibals will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 10pm for brunch and dinner, and Donati and Roberts will host special opening events throughout the week.
Also on October 1, Donati and Roberts will open Madre + Mason, their third concept with restaurant group We Serve People alongside Urban Cannibals Bodega + Bites and Virginia Highland’s Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor + Apothecary.
