Talkin’ Tacos, a food truck turned fast-casual Mexican eatery based in South Florida, is opening its first franchise location outside of Florida in Atlanta.
The restaurant will open at the Buckhead Crossing shopping center at 2625 Piedmont Road NE on September 22, 2023.
The restaurant will serve authentic halal Mexican cuisine and feature indoor seating for 50 and outdoor seating for 20. The chef-driven menu features Birria Tacos, Birria Ramen, Southwest Chicken Tacos, Birria Pizza and Street Corn in a Cup. A hallmark of the menu is the beef birria, which is braised each day for 12 hours before completing the cooking process.
Talkin’ Tacos will also have desserts, like Cookies and Cream and Dulce de Leche Churros, as well as homemade specialty beverages like lemonades, horchatas and mangonadas.
“We’re so excited to be the first to open a Talkin’ Tacos franchise location outside of Florida,” franchisee Jay Charaniya said in a press release. “Our team looks forward to introducing our unique flavors and vibrant dining experience to the affluent city of Buckhead. Our vision is to create a haven for taco enthusiasts, where we provide innovative twists on Mexican food, warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that will leave a mark on everyone’s taste buds.”
The restaurant is hosting a grand opening party starting at 6 p.m. on opening day, with the first 100 guests receiving a free order of the signature Birria Tacos. All first responders will also receive a free order of Birria Tacos the following day, on September 23, 2023.
Talkin’ Tacos started out as a food truck in 2020. The brand expanded into a brick-and-mortar space in Miramar in 2021, a second restaurant later that year in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood and a third location, which opened in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, in October 2022. The brand then expanded further with a location in Coral Springs, Florida, and a bit north to Palm Beach County in Wellington, Florida.
Future Talkin’ Tacos locations are opening in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, New York, and Washington D.C. in 2023 and 2024. The brand will also open three additional South Florida corporate locations.
Talkin’ Tacos in Atlanta will be open 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
