The Buckhead Mall had its interior renovated in 2014.

Simon, Phipps Plaza's developer, announced in a press release Wednesday plans to overhaul the luxury Buckhead mall's entrance and façade on Peachtree Road.

“The dramatic entrance will befit Phipps Plaza as a luxury shopping landmark,” Dewayne Herbert, the mall's manager, said in the release.

“We are looking forward to seeing this gateway to our property in time for Holiday 2015.”

The exterior improvements, scheduled to be complete in fall 2015, will match the interior renovations made to the mall last year.

"The entrance will be unique consisting of intricately designed perforated metal panels and glass curtain wall that will be backlit, creating a dynamic gateway to the property both day and night," according to the release.

Simon has previously announced the addition of a residential project, Domain at Phipps Plaza, 319 mid-rise, "urban-style luxury" residences with a variety of floor plans to be developed with Columbus Realty Partners, Ltd. and a joint venture with Noble Investment Group which will bring the AC Hotels by Marriott brand to Phipps Plaza.

Simon also recently completed renovating Phipps Plaza's sister mall across the street, Lenox Square.

  1. Wow, this model looks amazing! I really like the renovations they are going to do to this plaza. It is a very modern look. The plaza near my house needs a major renovation like this. I'm sure if they did a renovation like this, their business would double. People don't like going there because it is run down.
