Foxtail Coffee Co. is in planning with the City of Atlanta to open its second Georgia outpost in Buckhead’s Prominence Apartments, at 3699 Lenox Rd NE, near Lenox Square. The Florida-based franchise entered the state with an outpost in Newnan in late 2021.
Hardik Shah will be the location’s franchisee, according to a building permit application, which outlines $175,000 worth of construction expected for the 1,677 square-foot, first generation space in the Mill Creek Residential development.
Foxtail Coffee Co. was founded in 2016 by lifelong friends Alex Tchekmeian and Iain Yeakle, according to the company’s website.
Tchekmeian confirmed the plans for the upcoming Foxtail in an email to What Now Atlanta, but did not immediately comment.
Foxtail Coffee Co. specializes in Central American, South American, and East African coffees, working with small producers in Ecuador, Colombia, and Ethiopia. Foxtail serves espresso, brewed coffee, and cold brews, as well as specialty drinks like chai and matcha tea lattes.
Some locations, like Foxtail’s Farmhouse in Winter Park, FL, also serve small bar bites, wine, and “experimental coffee offerings.” It’s unclear if the Buckhead outpost will offer a food and alcoholic beverage component.
“The company upholds its ethical and quality standards by making sure these environmentally friendly farms are paid fair wages so they may continue to grow exceptional crops,” according to the company’s Facebook page.
With the exception of its Newnan outpost and the planned Atlanta store, all of Foxtail’s locations are in Florida with a heavy concentration in the Central Florida area.
