Growing smoothie franchise Planet Smoothie is opening a new location in Cumming at 2615 Peachtree Pkwy. The future smoothie shop will sit near a Steak ‘n Shake, in the Brookwood Marketplace anchored by Office Max, Super Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and The Home Depot at the southeast corner of Peachtree Parkway and Brookwood Parkway.
Hetal Punjani, the franchisee who franchises multiple locations of Planet Smoothie, was happy to choose the area. “In the area, there aren’t alternative options for people,” they told What Now Atlanta. “We are much healthier than any other concept.” Planet Smoothie opened its very first store in Atlanta back in 1995 but has since crossed state lines and branched out as far as the West Coast. With a focus on “delicious, real fruit smoothies, delivered with enthusiasm and a smile,” the founders were confident that Planet Smoothie would spread.
The lease for the property was signed on October 9th and the space is currently awaiting a full build-out. According to Punjani, Planet Smoothie is slated to open in the first week of March. They went on to say that, because it’s a franchise concept, the build-out has to be done exactly in order to match the other storefronts around the country, which will take some time.
