The smoothie shop is replacing Eye Choice Optical in the apartment mid-rise.
TuRhonda Freeman, a Planet Smoothie customer-turned-franchisee, is making moves to open her second Atlanta-area location of the smoothie shop.
Freeman Wednesday filed plans with City of Atlanta to buildout suite six in The Reserve at LaVista Walk apartment complex for the new Planet Smoothie, replacing the now-shuttered Eye Choice Optical.
"We have the best tasting smoothies on the planet," Freeman in a telephone interview Wednesday told What Now Atlanta.
"We've converted a lot of customers who used to go to our competitors. Once you try our smoothies, you'll agree. Smoothie lovers know."
An estimated $80,000 could be spent building out the 828-square-foot Planet Smoothie, at 1155 LaVista Road, according to the permit filing.
Freeman, one of two "area developers" for the smoothie franchise concept, took over the 231 Peachtree location in 2013, and could open future stores, she said.
"We'll see how LaVista Road goes."
As many as five new Atlanta-are Planet Smoothies could open in the near future, including the one coming soon to The Reserve, according to Freeman.
Planet Smoothie in The Reserve is expected to open June 2017.
