The location at 14 Wallace Boulevard will open Dec. 12, 2023, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Dec. 15, 2023. Up to $5,000 of proceeds from opening-day sales will benefit Kare for Kids, a local nonprofit organization that provides back-to-school and year-round clothing needs to children in the Dawsonville community.
“After being in the hospitality industry for 36 years and an Outbacker for over eleven years, it is an honor to open the first Next Gen location in Georgia,” Joe Mascitti, proprietor of the Dawsonville restaurant, said in a press release. “Our team is eager to welcome its first guests and serve the community in many ways, beginning with our contribution to Kare for Kids.”
At 4,694 square feet, the Dawsonville restaurant optimizes back-of-house space to reduce its footprint. (The average Outback Steakhouse is 6,000 square feet.) It features a large, centrally located bar inspired by the Great Barrier Reef and a dining room accommodating approximately 187 guests.
The decor includes a mural by artist Lindsey Jenneman depicting a kangaroo wearing binoculars at Amicalola Falls State Park, adding a Georgia twist to Outback’s Australian aesthetic.
The restaurant will be open 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday.
