“Our strengths start with the handmade quality food and sauces made with love,” said Mattchews chef and operator Matt Scruggs.

Mattchews uses the flavors from his southern roots and fuses them with his Vietnamese background. The menu includes sandwiches, wings, fried rice dishes and more.

Municipal Market was founded in 1918 as an open-air market. It now features dozens of vendors and eateries.

Mattchews will be open at the market starting April 1, 2024. The new culinary addition is part of an ongoing effort to reform and bring new life to the community landmark on Edgewood Avenue.

“The market is excited to welcome MattChews,” said Executive Director David Bennett. “We look forward to helping him reach his goals and bring new customers to the market.”
