The restaurant is planned for the mall at 2841 Greenbriar Pkwy SW, according to a building permit application with the City of Atlanta. The scope of work includes a remodel of the dining area and the replacement of fixtures, tile, flooring and paint. The space is approximately 5,400 square feet, according to the application. Plans show a dining area and a condiment area.

JJ’s Fish and Chicken was founded in 1982 in Chicago. The menu includes chicken tenders, seafood, sandwiches and cheesesteaks. The restaurant has more than 130 locations, with several in Atlanta.

It’s not yet clear when the new location will open, but a Greenbriar Mall directory indicates that JJ’s Fish and Chicken is “coming soon.”

A1 General Services is listed as the owner.

    1. Huh? Not a Trump fan, but how is Macy’s closing an underperforming location any president’s fault? Brick and Mortar retail has been suffering for many years, much longer than this administration….

  1. Just to be correct: Macy’s DID NOT take over Rich’s! Federated bought Macy’s. Closed existing Macy stores. Federated decided to take the Macy’s name and make it a National Department Store. Please get your facts correct!

    1. I hate the fact that Macy’s is being removed from our Community. It is unfortunate that we have to go of our way to shop. A lot of us remember when it was the top place to shop when it was Rich’s. What can we do to save it. This is when we need a person with means or a celebrity to step up. Also, retirees and Seniors will suffer.
