Owner Pat Azugo aims to provide healthy options for breakfast and lunch and plans to serve organic coffee and freshly-milled, whole wheat baked goods out of the space, at 2770 Lenox Road NE.

“I was looking for a location in an area where I felt people would be more interested in slightly healthy offerings for breakfast and lunch such as going the more organic route, reducing sugars, avoiding refined sugars,” she shared with What Now Atlanta (WNA) during a phone call.

“Those were things that were important to me.”

A remodel of the 1,500-square-foot space from a bakery into a comfortable coffee shop will include installing a coffee bar, luxury vinyl flooring, and cozy banquette seating.

Azugo is working with WNA Partner Urban Eats on concept development and business operations coaching, and estimates a late-January to mid-February 2020 opening timeframe.

As for Mae’s Bakery’s, the owners do not plan to open another brick-and-mortar at this time.
