The team behind the location comes from the original Dave’s Hot Chicken franchisees – Deryl Pangelinan, Tim Velleca, Andrew Feghali and Lawrence Kourie – who are bringing several locations of the restaurant to metro Atlanta in an agreement announced last August.

At the time, Pangelinan and Velleca told What Now Atlanta that Atlanta had been the most requested place in the U.S. to bring Dave’s Hot Chicken. It was made known at the time that they would be targeting nine locations in Georgia, with Conyers likely being the first.

Now, we know where that will be: 1447 Hwy 138 SE. The space used to be a Krystal restaurant that is now closed. According to construction plans, the restaurant is about 2,000 square feet, and drawings show plans for a drive-thru.

What Now Atlanta has reached out for more information about when the location is expected to open.

Dave’s Hot Chicken was founded in 2017 by Arman OganesyanDave Kopushyan and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan.

The menu includes chicken tenders and sliders with a range of heat levels, from no spice at all to “Reaper.” Sides include fries, kale slaw and mac and cheese.

  1. If Dave’s Hot Chicken is coming to Conyers, GA, I think they should open one in Clayton County. I do believe it would be great for the county, but the location needs to be in the right place. They would need to look at Jonesboro Rd, Morrow/Forest Park area, Tara Blvd. and Hwy 138.
They should do a survey and get input from the community to select a location. I’m just saying.
