“We were homebrewers for many years and we wanted to bring our passion for craft beer to the larger Sandy Springs market,” Co-Founder Jack Poole shared in an email with What Now Atlanta. “We wanted to provide the market with fresh, exciting new flavors.”

The brewery won’t specialize in any one variety of beer; the brewers have gained experience brewing across a wide-range, so you can expect to enjoy all the big hitters when it comes to beer as well as seltzer. “Chris and Michael’s mother was born and raised in Peru so we will be integrating some local Peruvian drink varieties and ingredients into a few of our beers,” Poole added.

A recent update via social media shares that the brewing company is beyond the permitting phase and undergoing construction at its new home. 5825 Roswell Road is a 9,137 square-foot building, which includes 2,200 square-feet of covered patio, uncovered patio, and rooftop bar space. The brewery will feature a U-shaped bar able to accommodate 30 patrons. In addition to a private dining area for special events, the team at Mutation Brewing  has built a speakeasy with its own bar, style, and seating area hidden from the rest of the brewery’s operations. All-in-all the brewery, which is dog and kid friendly (very important features for a good brewery, we must say), will seat 250 patrons at full capacity.

Oh, and plan to enjoy some Spiced Right Barbecue while you’re sipping on a cold beer—Mutation Brewing Company has partnered with the Historic Roswell Neighborhood staple that’s been around since 2004.

Poole says the brewery hopes to open by mid-to-late December, although delays may push the opening to early January. Find Mutation Brewing Company on social media for updates.
