Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts, first conceived of North Italia in 2002. From there, the neighborhood eatery that serves upscale, modern Italian cuisine in a casual setting has expanded to 28 restaurants across the US. California, Texas, and Arizona are host many North Italias, but the eatery has also spread further east, to Pennsylvania, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee.

It appears Atlanta will soon have its share in the plates. A permit application filed for 3393 Peachtree Road indicates North Italia has taken over a space in Lenox Square Mall and plans to make slight interior and exterior alterations in the form of new finishes, millwork, and lighting and a new patio canopy. The estimated cost of construction to the 5,503 square foot space is $1,500,000.00

As this will be North Italia’s first Georgia location, we’re sure you’ll want the details. And North Italia is all about the details. “At all of our North Italia locations we’re passionate about more than just our crave-worthy Italian food menu. We put our all into every detail, creating an environment that lets you know you’re in for something special,” says the eatery’s website. You can indulge in Chef’s daily pizzas, dishes made in-house from scratch, and an assortment of wines, beers, and hand-crafted cocktails.

An interesting tidbit, too, is that The Cheesecake Factory actually acquired the restaurant and Fox Restaurant Concepts back in 2019. At the time, FRC operated 21 North Italia locations in 10 states and Washington D.C. It looks like Atlanta is all part of the eatery’s on-going expansion.

We were unable to reach Division VP Joe Hyslop at the time of publication, so you’ll want to keep an eye on North Italia’s social media for updates on this opening.
