Gillespie is the man behind Red Beard Restaurant group and Gunshow restaurant. The new concept is slated to open in 2024 in a yet-to-be-announced location, Gillespie told What Now Atlanta Monday.

The former executive chef at Woodfire Grill noted that the new restaurant would have a similar experience to Gunshow.

Gunshow is located in Atlanta’s historic Glenwood Park and opened in 2013. The restaurant’s name is a tribute to Kevin Gillespie’s family, attending gun shows with his father during his childhood.

The space has a few walls connecting to the kitchen. It also offers a unique spin on the traditional dining experience with dishes presented table side. While Gillespie’s emerging restaurant will be similar in price and service, he noted the concept would be totally different from the existing Atlanta restaurant.

Gillespie is currently negotiating space agreements with the current landlord of the planned restaurant, noting it would take over a space that plans to close soon.

Although the planned culinary destination is slated for a 2024 opening in Atlanta, Gillespie is not new to the robust food scene in the area. In addition to his time as executive chef at Woodfire Grill, Gillespie also worked as chef de partie at Atlanta Grill at The Ritz-Carlton and sous chef at TWO Urban Licks.

According to his website, Gillespie also opened Revival Restaurant in 2015, paying homage to southern-inspired family suppers.
