The doughnut shop submitted a building permit application with the City of Atlanta Friday for a new 1,810-square-foot store, at 2420 Piedmont Road.

Marta is leasing the land to Dunkin’ Donuts, Caren Nunnally, the submitter of the doughnut shop’s building plans, told What Now Atlanta in an interview Friday.

Construction costs are expected to ring in at $212,000 to build the Dunkin’ Donuts from the ground up.

Dunkin’ Donuts was not immediately available for comment.

  1. This is awful news. There already is a Dunkin Donuts right down the street near Cheshire Bridge and Piedmont. How many freaking Dunkin Donuts do we need. It’s nothing but a generic, fattening product. I would go out of my way and drive downtown for Sublime Donuts rather than walk to this place. Can’t we get some local chains at Lindbergh? Unfortunately, no local chain would be caught dead at Lindbergh because of the awful parking situation engineered by MARTA and the city of Atlanta. This is just another nail in the coffin for Lindbergh City Center.

  2. While I agree with your sentiments about DD & Sublime, I disagree that it’s “just another nail in the coffin for LCC”. I think DD will be quite successful there. Lots of traffic (vehicular, mass transit, pedestrian). Lots of workers. It’ll do great there.

  3. I like Dunkin’, the coffee is good, but there’s already an independent coffee shop at Lindbergh serving French press Counter Culture Coffees. Gotta go with the local business and the better coffee at Sip.

  4. This is awesome! DD rocks! The best coffee around and great prices! Coffee blows everyone else out of the water. Go Dunkin’!
