The Shops at Indian Creek is planned for a space off State Route 42 and Tanger Boulevard, according to construction documents. The shopping center would include a more than 48,000-square-foot Publix grocery store and two one-story retail buildings totaling 18,000 square feet.

At least four tenant spaces are planned for the smaller of the two (measuring 6,000 square feet), with the other building (12,000 square feet) having room for at least five tenants, according to construction plans.

Venture South Investments is the developer of the project. VSI is a real estate development and asset management company with an office in Decatur. The firm has experience with grocery-anchored centers (including the Village at Oak Grove in Athens), malls, offices, residential space and mixed-use properties.

According to Dart Retail Advisors, The Shops at Indian Creek has an expected delivery date of Q4 2025. Leasable outparcels are also planned for the development in addition to the grocery store and the inline commercial space.

The property is about 2.5 miles from the Tanger Outlets.

The Locust Grove City Council approved plans for the project, which required rezoning, in 2023.
