The X Pot is expected to open at the mixed-use project in spring 2024, said a spokesperson for The Interlock.

The X Pot aims to bridge Asian and American cultures, says its website.

“With beautiful HD 360 projections, thematic soundscapes, and interactive light shows right on your dinner plate, The X Pot aims to engage all five of your senses to create an extraordinary gastronomic experience where the past and the future collides.”

Its menu includes imported seafood and “purebred A5 Wagyu beef flown in daily from Japan.”

The X Pot currently has locations in Las Vegas, Chicago and Los Angeles. It was founded by David Zhao and Haibin Yang, who are also behind the restaurant Chubby Cattle.

“My partners and I wanted to disrupt the traditional hotpot restaurant industry by integrating cutting edge technology and Michelin level customer service,” Zhao said in a 2020 interview. “As a minority business owner, I pride myself on educating the public about our culinary traditions and bridging the gap of different cultures.”

Zhao in late 2021 said The X Pot has become one of the top-grossing restaurants in the country.

What Now Atlanta reached out to Zhao for a comment about coming to Atlanta but did not immediately hear back.

The next phase of The Interlock includes a Publix grocery store, student housing for Georgia Tech, and 275,000 square feet of commercial space. The project recently celebrated its topping out.
