Brownsville Pointe, planned for the corner of McDonough Boulevard SE and Jonesboro Road SE, would include a wedge-shaped commercial structure with two residential buildings behind it, Urbanize Atlanta first reported. Demolition is expected to kick off soon, according to the news outlet.

The team behind the project is Focused Community Strategies, an Atlanta-based nonprofit focused on community development and revitalization. The organization specializes in mixed-income housing and economic development in South Atlanta.

They also created the grocery store Carver Market and the coffee shop Community Grounds, both of which are located right across the street from Brownsville Pointe.

Kronberg Urbanists + Architects is working on Brownsville Pointe. According to LoopNet, the commercial building is expected to include 2,765 square feet of retail space, along with streetscape upgrades and additional parking.
